PP78 Effectiveness And Safety Of The FreeStyle Libre® Glucose Monitoring System For T1DM In Childhood And Adolescence

Introduction FreeStyle Libre System (FSL) is a minimally invasive technology, which provides frequent information about interstitial glucose levels, allows adjustment of insulin dose and reduction in the number fingersticks. This study aims to evaluate effectiveness safety FSL childhood adolescence. Methods Prospective case series 27 Spanish hospitals. Patients aged 4-17 years with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) were included. Follow-up was done at 3, 6 12 months after starting use FSL. Outcome measures HbA1c acute complications DM (severe hypoglycemia, ketoacidosis), knowledge, health-related quality life, satisfaction adverse effects. Biochemical glycemic outcomes (e.g., variability, time therapeutic range) available from 3 months. Mixed regression models repeated measurements implemented. Results The mean age patients 12.6 years, 56.4 percent had values above 7.5 baseline. subgroup significantly improved their levels (-0.46%, -0.44% -0.35%, respectively). controlled worsened (0.29%). There significant severe hypoglycemic episodes, but only multiple imputation analysis.
